L’Antica Fattoria del Grottaione - built in the real old Tuscan style in Montenero D’Orcia it offers simple but carefully planned cooking which changes with the seasons. It flourishes under Flavio and Amanda’s able guidance.

Il Ristoro del Parco Faunistico - set against an exceptional natural background in the Wildlife park, it offers simple, tasty dishes using old recipes. Antonella prepares all the jams and vegetables served in the restaurant herself. The soups and salamis are much recommended.

Il Ristoro dei Ghiottoni (the Glutton) at Santa Fiora offers traditional cooking in a classical Tuscan setting. Enjoying Giuseppe’s hospitality always makes for an interesting stop during visits to villages in the area.

Il Gatto e la Volpe restaurant at Abbadia San Salvatore has a long history of serving simple, tasty dishes prepared as they always have been in Abbadia San Salvatore. The pizza they offer in the evening is particularly good.In autumn it is a great place to go to eat the mushrooms picked by Tiziano himself. In the kitchen Patrizia continues the culinary traditions of her parents: her soups are among the best to be found anywhere.

L’Hosteria del Ceccottino at Pitigliano, a quiet ancient town, is run by Alessandro and Chiara who will welcome you onto their terrace from where you can enjoy the magnificent view and allow yourself to be captivated by the wonderfully evocative smells. It is an opportunity to rediscover tradition, to enjoy the simplicity of long-ago cooking with today’s flavours.Their specialities include home made pasta, home made cakes and sweets and local wines.

Saxa Cuntaria is another venue in the area which we recommend. It offers wonderful wines in an extremely elegant and refines atmosphere. It is in the old centre at Piancastaagnaio.Nazzareno and Marilena will be there to welcome you with traditional dishes served with taste and imagination.
